...........................................
Mordkhe Rivesman was born in Vilna Lithuania in 1868. In 1911 he wrote lyrics that he called "Lomir Ale Ineynem"
Later he used melodies from Chassidic Jews songs to write this song. This song became so common that Jews typically sing it at any wedding. At the beginning of the wedding, when everybody is sitting down and waiting for the first toast - The Klezmers start singing "Lomir Ale Ineynem".
The song is as follows: We are sipping a little wine for
The Chossen (groom) - The Chossen stand up with glass of wine.
The Kalleh (bride) - The Bride stand up with a glass of wine
The Mechutonim (In-Laws) - The Mechutonim stand up with the glass of wine
The Alters (Grandparents) - The Alter stand up with the glass of wine
The Guest - The Guest stand up with the glass of wine and always for Klezmers (musicians)
At the end everybody stands up and drinks the wine and scream "Mazel Tov!"
