Original Synagogue Door
The congregation of Eastern State's synagogue passed through this door for decades. The paint layers still bear the 'ghosts' of two Stars of David that once identified the room as a place of Jewish worship.
There is also evidence of a sign attached to the middle of the door (at the height of the padlock) and a mezuzah (scroll with a Hebrew prayer in a decorative case), hung at an angle on the doorframe.
One of the stars was discovered in the rubble outside the synagogue. The second star and the mezuzah have never been found.
The door and doorframe are fragile and putting them back into everyday use might have damaged them further.

I have a friend who takes a lot of distressed door shots, she would love this one. It has everything you'd want, age, location, peeling paint, rusted knob & lock, and an interesting story about it. Cool Shot Vadim
